My name is John Pavlica, and I served as the Lead Pastor of Living Hope Alliance Church in Bellefonte, PA (from 2009-2018).

In the summer of 2014, I was working in my office at the church when a call came in from Raycenia Moyer. She asked for a few minutes of my time to share about the ministry of New Beginnings Leadership Center.  She told me that God had called New Beginnings to do a work in Central Pennsylvania and that I was one of the pastors she was led to contact about seeking revival and spiritual healing for Christian leaders in the Bellefonte area.

At that time in my ministry, I had just gone through a difficult season in our church. After a challenging trial on our leadership team, I was wounded. I was not looking for someone to come bring renewal, I was looking for a pass out of there.

The truth was, I needed healing. I was hurt. The call from Raycenia came just at the right time. She wanted to bring a, “Jesus, The Healer” conference to State College, PA, and asked me if I would be a part of it. In my flesh I wanted to say, “No, I won’t be around much longer,” but God was telling me to do it. A week later, I called her back and said yes.

The “Jesus, The Healer” conference was a powerful experience for me as well as other leaders in our church and other churches in our area. I received the healing God wanted to give me and led my leadership team to ask God for vision for the next step in Bellefonte, PA. I discovered that God was not done with me here. He was in the process of bringing new beginnings to Bellefonte.

Following the conference, our church began prayer sessions together for healing and a calling for a fresh new filling of the Holy Spirit. As God met us, we began sensing a call to go into the local housing communities in our town. We worked together as a team, reaching our town for Christ. We also began partnering with other church leaders wanting the same experience.

New Beginnings Leadership Center helped me and my leadership team, as well as other colleagues in our area to find healing in Christ. That healing led us to work together at reaching into our communities with the gospel. The Spirit is moving in Central PA. We are grateful to the New Beginnings Leadership Team for listening to the call to come to Central Pennsylvania. My experience allowed me to see the need for healing that so many Christian leaders need.

There are so many people like me trying to lead their ministry with wounded souls. It is resulting in discouragement and pain rather than fruit and hope. It is my prayer that New Beginnings will continue to be used by God to serve others, as they served me. I have been made new through their ministry and hope others will experience this as well.
